Trust God’s Timing
The nation of Israel went through roughly 4 centuries between the time of the prophet Malachi, who wrote the final book of the Old Testament, and the coming of Jesus the Messiah. That was a long wait! By the time Christ came, God’s people were hoping for One who would physically deliver them from the oppression of the brutal Romans. But Jesus offered a different sort of deliverance – one that frees the soul from sin and the fear of punishment for it. The United States has not even existed for two and a half centuries, but there are troubles aplenty in the land. As you pray and plead for God’s mercy upon the nation, remember to trust in His perfect timing and His purpose, and know that His deliverance is never late.
